I have been playing guitar for 35 years or so, and am starting to get the hang of it, though any chord which involves more than two letters and one number are still something of a mystery. Most of my band experience has been playing bass, and I am actively involved in a varying number of other bands. I currently use a Line6 Variax 300 guitar, which emulates other guitars, doing a very passable impression of an acoustic. I'm mainly a bassist though (from four to seven strings, fretted or fretless, with a dash of upright), and we do occasional bass and vocals numbers. As of January 2012, Kaz is having guitar lessons, so we're hoping to do some songs with her on acoustic and me on bass.

Mike is a very talented artist. He is a very accomplished bass player and part of our act reflects that with numbers such as Fever. As well as playing in his own bands, he is always in demand to play with other artists on open mike nights, to the extent that he is now known as the Flying Bassist! The Variax has enabled us to add instrumental variety to an acoustic set.... mind you I'm still looking for the record and play back buttons..... only kidding!
